SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER - JAMES THRASH
Former NFL Superstar Football Player James Thrash played 12 seasons as a wide receiver with the Washington Redskins (1997-2000, 2004-08) and Philadelphia Eagles (2001-03). He won the Ed Block Award and the Unsung Hero award(2000), Thrash was selected in 2008 by “The NFL Today” host James Brown to receive a JB Award, which honors players for their commitment to achieve excellence off the field through building better communities and stronger families.

Thrash is currently spending his time motivating and inspiring various groups of people. He speaks to school groups on the importance of leadership and character, as well as, teaching life skills to youth and adults. As a committee member of Beat The Odds, a project initiated to celebrate the positive potential of young people, he has been a keynote speaker and encouraged the 12 local high schools to participate. Thrash also sits on the board of the Good Shepherd Alliance, which is a non-profit organization that provides basic needs for emergency food, clothing and shelter along with assisting women or families in resolving their homeless situation, stabilizing their living situation in the community and empowering them to become self-sufficient.
