Awakening Festival - Food Drive back for 2010!

We need your help!
We are doing Awakening Festival Food Drive againg this year for our community - a food drive to help replenish the local food bank. We are asking each person to bring a non-perishable food item to the festival and we will donate everything to the Loudoun Interfaith Relief. We started this last year and you help us donate over 960kbs of food.

 

This is something that everyone should do and it is the right thing to do. There should not be hungry children and people in this world. We know we will not be changing the world with this food drive, but we know we can make a difference in our community. You will not receive anything for your donation, no free stuff, no $$ off you tickets, no coupons for anything, this is something that will make a difference and you can walk away knowing you have helped.

What would you do if you lost your job? If you suffered a serious illness or injury and went on disability? If your children were going to school hungry? What would happen if your pantry was bare, your refrigerator was empty and your bank account was in the red? Many people would turn to family and friends. But for some, that's just not an option. That’s when Loudoun Interfaith Relief can help.

Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Inc. is a food pantry. We provide our clients with an emergency supply of groceries. We provide a well-balanced, nutritious supply of food to prepare three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for three days for any size family.

FACTS:
In 2008, Loudoun Interfaith Relief served more than 55,000 individuals–about half of which are children.

More and more single moms are coping with the challenges of feeding their children. Many of those moms will go unfed in order to feed their children.
